# Projects

Miguel works with collaborators on youth participation and public school governance. These reports document two of those collaborations.

## Youth voice and participation

**Nothing About Us Without Us** examines youth voice, power and participation in East Side Union High School District. The case study looks at the district’s partnership with Californians for Justice and what supports student participation.

## School boards and democratic governance

**Local Control in a Time of Change** examines the work of California school board members, their challenges and the support they need. Miguel is a coauthor of the May 2026 report published by Getting Down to Facts.
